Turkish companies show interest in investing into Russian transport projects

15.02.2019

Turkish construction companies stated their interest in transport projects being part of the Comprehensive Plan for upgrade and expansion of the Russian mainline infrastructure by 2024, Minister of Transport Yevgeny Ditrikh told TASS in an interview on Friday at the Russian investment forum.

"Our preliminary negotiations with them [Turkish companies] highlighted their interest in assets in the Comprehensive Plan as well. They say they are ready to invest when speaking about the future," the Minister said.

Turkish companies already participated in construction of transport facilities in Russia many times. For example, Renaissance Construction became the prime contractor for building the new Terminal B and two tunnels between terminals in Sheremetyevo Airport. Limak-Marashatroy became the prime contractor for construction of a new terminal in Khabarovsk Airport last spring.

Funding of the Comprehensive Plan for upgrade and expansion of the Russian mainline infrastructure will be about 6.4 trillion rubles ($95.9 bln), including more than 3 trillion rubles ($45 bln) to be allocated from the federal budget.
